Abstract A simulation method (SM), linear programming (LPM), project evaluation methods (PEMs), and whole farm modeling (WFM) were applied to analyze the investment appeal of a biogas on Russian farm. The was evaluated for constant input parameters. efficiency procedure elaborated evaluate maximize efficiency. includes defining optimal state situations “with project” “without project.” main elements optimization are equipment anaerobic digestion, substrate blend structure, fertilizing plan, cost production structure. fulfilled by (SM) LPM. compared using PEMs, indicators efficiency: net present value (NPV), internal rate return (IRR), payback period (PBP), profitability index (PI). structure defined direct search (DSM) select probe providing highest NPV afterward. justify benefits under corresponding conditions work out recommendations businesses municipalities.
